Vacation Mode: Is Your Estate Plan Ready?

Summer travel season is here, and while many families are busy planning vacations, it’s also a great time to make sure your estate plan is prepared for the unexpected. Whether you’re taking a weekend cruise, visiting family, or heading overseas, having updated legal documents can help your loved ones avoid unnecessary stress if an emergency happens while you’re away.

A few small updates now can make a big difference later—especially when it comes to protecting your family, finances, and peace of mind.

As we head into Summer, our firm is embracing a bit more balance and family time while school is out. Some attorneys will have adjusted schedules throughout the season, but our commitment to serving our clients remains unchanged. Thank you, as always, for your continued trust and understanding.

“What Happens If There’s a Medical Emergency While You’re Traveling?”

Before your next trip, take a few minutes to make sure your administrators and loved ones know where your estate planning binder or folder is located, who your attorney is, and how to find a current list of your assets and monthly expenses.

In this short video, we share why having this information readily available is so important. A little preparation now can help your loved ones feel more prepared and avoid unnecessary confusion, delays, and stress during an unexpected medical emergency.

Quick Tip of the Month 💡

Travel plans often remind people to update passports, reservations, and emergency contacts—but many forget to review and update the document that shows a list of your assets, expenses and passwords. Be organized and have all of that key information readily available if something should happen while you are traveling. We aren’t suggesting that you provide a list of that info to your loved one before your trip but make sure they know where that list is located.

🔒 PLO’s Meet & Greet via Zoom:

Current clients and the individuals named as their Successor Trustee or Personal Representative are invited to join us for a virtual meet & greet on Monday, 7/13 from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM. This is a great opportunity for your trusted decision-makers to get to know the attorneys who helped prepare your estate plan before they may ever need to contact our office.

RSVP to (352) 399-6944 to reserve your seat and receive your Zoom link.  This is a hop on and hop off kind of Meet & Greet. We do not get into specifics of a client’s estate plan.
