Happy Father’s Day!

Tip – Health Care Documents

Locate your Health Care documents which include the Designation of Health Care Surrogate; the Living Will; and Authorization to Release Medical Records (HIPAA). Do these documents still meet your needs and have you selected the correct individual(s) to make health care decisions for you? Always make sure you have named a successor surrogate who can step in should the first person named become unable or unwilling or predeceases you.

Inform your agents that you have selected them and discuss with them your wishes. Let them know where you keep your documents and how to reach Pittman Law Office.

If your Health Care documents are from another state or are not current to your wishes, contact my office to schedule a complimentary consultation with me to review and update your Health Care documents.

We took the kids to the beach last weekend. It was great for about 30 minutes then they were both ready to leave, saying it was too hot.

What My Neighbor Said

We receive many telephone calls from people saying their neighbor told them to add their children to their deed to ensure easier transfer of title of their primary residence upon death. For many reasons, this is not something I advocate but there are safe methods to transfer real property to a child or individuals upon your death that are included in the Estate Planning process. If this is something you are concerned with, contact my office for more information.
