MERRY CHRISTMAS!

December is a special time where we gather with friends and family to enjoy the Holidays. That means it is a great opportunity to discuss your Estate Plan with your loved ones. Although it might not be a cheerful subject, it could help your administrators immensely in the administration process. You don’t have to disclose all of the details of your Estate Plan, but make sure that they know some of the basics. Some main factors that would be beneficial to discuss with your administrators are:

  • Where your Estate Planning Documents are located,
  • Who your Estate Planning Attorney is and how to contact them,
  • What your monthly expenses are and how they are paid, and
  • Where your assets are located and how those assets are titled.

This information will help your administrators step into their role when you become incapacitated or pass away.

If you are a client of Pittman Law Office, you have a Personal Information Handbook in your folder or binder that we gave you with your original documents. This document is a great start for you to list important information that your administrators need to know. Be sure to update this handbook when something changes in your life.

Attorney Audra M. Platt continues to travel around Sumter, Lake, and Marion county to speak at Estate Planning 101 Parties.

Estate Planning 101 Parties are great for folks who want to get a basic explanation of Florida Estate Planning in an informal setting.

You don’t need to be an established client of Pittman Law Office to host an Estate Planning 101 Party. The idea is the host would invite 10 or more of their friends and Attorney Audra M. Platt will come to the host’s home (or driveway) to discuss the basics of Estate Planning and answer any questions the guests may have about Estate Planning. Contact Toni, our Director of First Impressions, for more information and to schedule a fun, educational event at your home.

To the right is Waylon, Attorney Audra Platt’s youngest son. He took his first steps on Thanksgiving and hasn’t slowed down yet.
