Hop Into Secure Planning: Peace of Mind at Every Age
Estate planning isn’t just for the elderly or the wealthy—it’s a powerful tool for everyone, at every stage of life. Whether you’re starting a family, growing a business, or preparing for retirement, having a clear plan in place ensures that your wishes are honored and your loved ones are protected. A well-crafted estate plan includes essential documents like wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care surrogates, offering security and guidance no matter what the future holds. This April, as we embrace new beginnings, remember that peace of mind comes from knowing you’ve taken the steps to safeguard what matters most.
Life is full of unexpected moments, and estate planning allows you to prepare for them with confidence. From ensuring your children are cared for, to preserving your legacy for future generations, these decisions provide clarity and comfort for both you and your loved ones. No matter your age or stage in life, having a plan means protecting what you’ve worked hard for and creating a secure future for those you cherish.
PLO’s First Annual Estate Planning Summit
This exclusive event on Friday, May 2, 2025 at 9 am, is designed specifically for our current clients who have established estate plans with PLO to give them insights into Wills, Trusts, and all of the accompanying estate planning documents. This will be a great refresher of the Basics of Estate Planning. We will also walk through the legal process of what happens when someone becomes incapacitated and after they pass away.
You’ll have the opportunity to ask our team of experienced attorneys and knowledgeable probate paralegal, Tara, any questions you may have.
Join us at the beautiful Orange Blossom Opry, located just down the road from where Attorney Amy Pittman grew up. This is a great chance to gain peace of mind, connect with our team, and ensure your estate plan is in order—all in a welcoming and informative setting.
If you are a current client (someone who has executed an estate plan with PLO) and you are interested in attending this event, please call the office at 352-399-6944 to reserve your seat.

Probate Corner…
What does a Personal Representative really do? Don’t they just follow what the Will says?
In Florida, a personal representative, also known as an executor, is appointed to administer the decedent’s estate during the probate process. The role of a personal representative includes several key responsibilities: managing estate assets, paying debts and taxes, distributing assets, notifying interested parties, and filing the necessary documents. These are just a few things your personal representative is responsible for. Check out our YouTube Channel to learn more about Personal Representatives and Probate.
My Neighbor Said…
I don’t need an estate plan because I don’t have a lot of money…
This is simply not true. Estate planning isn’t just for the wealthy or for those later in life—it’s for everyone, regardless of age or financial status. An estate plan isn’t just about money; it’s about making sure your wishes are honored and your loved ones are protected. It includes important things like who would make medical or financial decisions for you if you couldn’t, who would care for your children, and how to make things easier for your family in the future. Even a simple plan can prevent confusion, stress, and unnecessary expenses down the road. It’s really about peace of mind, knowing that no matter what happens, you and your loved ones are taken care of.
