Pittman Law Office Newsflash

Tax season is almost over! Congratulations to those who have already submitted their tax returns and good luck to all those who are working frantically before the deadline.

While we are currently focusing on personal returns, we want to remind our clients of the potential upcoming Federal Estate Tax changes. The current Federal Estate Tax Exemption Level is subject to revert back to the 2018 level (adjusted for inflation) in 2026.

For more information on the Federal Estate Tax Exemption and how it might impact you, check out our YouTube Channel to listen to Attorney Audra M. Platt discuss the potential changes.

Probate Corner

Do you think that every death requires a hearing or filing in probate court? That is not true. A probate case is only necessary when you require the Court’s assistance to transfer an asset that is in a deceased person’s name alone to a legal heir or deal with the decedent’s creditors. There are many things you can do NOW to keep your estate out of probate. One way to keep certain assets out of probate is to name a beneficiary on accounts.

Here is a picture of Attorney Amy Pittman and her mentor and friend, Attorney Stefan Addison taken several years ago. Stef mentored Amy for over a decade, encouraging and educating Amy through the early years of her career in Estate Planning. His recent passing only reminded Amy how grateful she is that she had so much time to learn from him. Stef will never be forgotten as he had such an impact on Amy and Pittman Law Office.
